Rodrika B. Scott
Rodrika Bailey Scott doesn’t just consider Savannah her home, it’s also her heart. It’s where she spent the holidays and summers with her grandparents, and it mirrors her personality: an old soul with an enterprising spirit. She established Bailey’s Belles in 2013 to create environments that look and feel good, ease the burden off property owners, and change lives.
Clients mostly compliment Rodrika’s obsessive attention to detail and ability to manage chaotic schedules, even pointing out calendar errors sometimes. Her response: “I’m no stranger to hectic schedules.” She juggled four jobs in college and later worked as a church secretary, managing the hectic schedules of the building and its pastor. She left her position at the church to upgrade Bailey’s Belles from part-time to full-time, and it’s been nonstop ever since. |
She’s the Program Director for Mothers with Mentors, a division of Shelter From the Rain; a council member for Southeast Planned Parenthood; and, through Bailey’s Belles, she creates jobs. In addition to running a business, Rodrika also speaks to large and small groups about race, gender, sexuality, and teen pregnancy. And when she’s not working, she’s probably spending time with her husband, cheering for their son at his practices and games, or traveling to a concert.
